Over the past few years disease's such as MRSA, Legionalla and Enteritia have come more world known and people are more aware, mainly because of the reports and amount of deaths and injury due to these diseases.
Bacteria is a living organism and can live in temperatures above boiling point and below freezing. They "eat" everything from sugar and starch to sunlight, sulfur and iron. However bacteria spreads in places, especially in public places such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, nursery's, day care centres and schools where they are used frequently day in and day out excessively.
These Micro organisms live on the the furniture and toilet areas where they are not kept as clean and start to form and spread everywhere and when allowed to do so, many become extremely dangerous and cause diseases such as MRSA.

Rilsan Polyamide11 is an established, durable, quality finish proven resistence to corrosion and impact, widely used and specified in the potable water and health industry.

Sanitized Silver- one of the safest and most innovative anti-microbial additives currently available- has been added to produce Rilsan ACTIVE, creating a unique nylon coting which supports normal cleaning regimes and helps protect against bacterial growth.

The Sanitized Silver inorganic additives are securely anchored in the surface coating and, when in contact with moisture during cleaning operations, silver ions are released from the product surface to limit bacterial growth.

The Sanitized Silver ions do not migrate and remain active during the surface coating's lifetime.

The Rilsan Active coating represents a unique and major breakthrough in finishing technology and is exclusively available for use on a wide range of Special Needs Products.

It can be applied to the Grab Rails and Hinged Support Arm in sensitive usage areas such as Document M Disabled Toilets, satisfying the 'warm to touch' and light reflective requirements of the buiding regulations.
